Why we need you

We are looking for a Director of Engineering to lead our Engineering department. The Engineering team will be based in Thailand and Japan, building Opn products which will be used by corporate clients around the world. These enterprise services and solutions will primarily revolve around E-Wallets, Payment solutions, and Platforms. Ultimately, you’ll make sure we use innovative technologies that maximize our productivity and help our company grow.

What you will be doing

  • Manage engineering projects end-to-end, setting requirements, goals and timelines
  • Manage teams of engineers located in Thailand
  • Oversee front-end and back-end development teams and their projects
  • Identify technology stack within the organization and manage knowledge within Engineering team
  • Coordinate with Product Design and Architecture team to plan product development roadmap
  • Design strategies for future development projects based on the company’s overall objectives and resources
  • Prepare and manage the engineering department’s budget
  • Hire engineers and coordinate their training
  • Implement innovative technologies
  • Partner with business owners, product managers, and teams to own business results, product roadmap, and technology.

What you have

  • Work experience as a director of engineering or in a similar senior-level position at an engineering department
  • Have 8+ years experience leading a software development team, preferably Agile Development
  • Experiences scaling team pass 25+ people
  • Successful track record of growing teams including hiring, coaching, and grooming future leaders
  • Hands-on experience in back-end and front-end development
  • Good understanding of agile methodologies
  • Leadership abilities with a strategic mind
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent English communication skills
  • Comfortable working with non-English speaking team

Good to Have

  • Experience with any of the following programming languages Ruby, Go, Elixir, Erlang or Javascript
  • Experience with development of Financial related products
  • Experience managing remote engineering team
